Rio Grande Games plunder prehistoric times for fresh game expansions

Rio Grande Games are delving deep into prehistory for a pair of exciting new gaming goodies. The first, Stone Age: Style is the Goal, is an expansion for the popular Stone Age game. The second is an all-new release: Cavemen: the Quest for Fire.

Stone Age: Style is the Goal introduces the idea of adournment to the usual mix of Stone Age trading and civilization-building. Players can now trade their raw materials for "decorations." There's also a new workplace in the village, a new form of commerce, new cards, new huts, more gold, and the popular here's-an-extra-player upgrade. Stone Age: Style is the Goal is set for a February release.

Cavemen: the Quest for Fire is a drafting card game, a la 7 Wonders. Players lay down challenges to each other in order to gain the precious right to hunt dinosaurs, gather members, and use prehistoric inventions. The strategy is found in direct competition and resource management, with the first tribe to create fire crowned the winner. Cavemen: the Quest for Fire hits the stores in March.
