The Marvel Heroic Roleplaying Basic Game is a socftcover book that will only be available in the US and Canada. Containing everything you need to play the game, it centers on the “Breakout” arc in the New Avengers issues 1 through 6 by Brian Michael Bendis, David Finch, and Danny Miki. Game stats for popular characters will take their place in the basic game book, including Captain America, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Iron Man, and Wolverine, alongside a host of super villains if you yearn to be the Bad Guy.

The game is based on the proven Cortex Plus System from other Margaret Weis Productions titles, including Smallville and Leverage. Future products will closely tie into comic releases, called “Events,” which will include Event Books and Event Supplements for introducing new characters and expanding gameplay. 2012 sees three events planned: Civil War in March, Annihilation in June, and Age of Apocalypse in September.
