![]() | Pathfinder Battles: Heroes & Monsters Release Date December 2011 Publisher Paizo (US), Wizkids (US) Designer Players 2 - 8 Brand Pathfinder |
Heroes & Monsters is the first of an ongoing series of prepainted miniatures from Paizo and HeroClix. These will be blind packaged and available in "bricks" of 19 booster packs. Each brick will contain 16 "regular" boosters with one Medium or two Small figures, and three "large" boosters with one Large monster each. Duplication of figures within a sealed brick has been held to a minimum, so purchasers should get no to very few duplicate figures in a brick (as with any randomized product, collation is not guaranteed). Buyers who purchase factory-sealed cases (4 bricks) should get a nearly complete set of figures.
Though these haven't been released yet, I have to say that what I've seen in the release literature looks promising. These are some of the best-painted pre-painted minis I've seen, and the sculpts have dynamic poses. Some figures have a too-plain paint finish (like that Dire Rat), but a stain wash by any amateur painter will bring out all the details.
