Co-operative boardgames are fun. Everyone pulling together against a common faceless enemy, pitching in for the good of the group. And when one wins, everyone wins. However, there's one element that I believe can elevate co-op games from good to great. The traitor. In Battlestar Galactica: the Board Game, there can be up to two traitorous Cylon agents (dependant on number of players) throwing their collective spanners in the works. Foiling skill checks by secretly providing incorrect data, convincing other players that innocent people should be thrown in the brig, sleeper Cylons, sympathizer Cylons, and so on... Cylons fight dirty. Of course, the game ain't all about the metal dudes, as everyone else fights tooth and nail to repel all boarders. A great game for fans of the show and non-fans alike, Battlestar Galactica offers a lot of adventure among the stars.
