There's no doubt that The Settlers of Catan is a beast of a franchise, devouring all in its path over the last 16 years. It's a terrific game that can easily be played by younger children while simultaneously providing a deep strategic challenge to hardened gamers. There's also just the right amount of luck to give lesser players a chance and good players the desire to scratch their eyeballs out. And that's always a good thing, right?
